VACANCY: Quality Technician (Fixed Term)
River Bioscience (Pty) Ltd has an opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team. This fixed term position is based at our Head Office in Port Elizabeth. This position plays a key role in laboratory quality control testing and record-keeping. The role is well suited to an individual who is hands-on, meticulous and comfortable working to deadlines in a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine laboratory quality control testing using microbial methods.
- Support laboratory production and sample preparation work.
- Record and report test results accurately and on time.
- Receive, log and store samples correctly.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, equipment logs and consumable stock.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Microbiology or a related life science (essential).
- Practical laboratory experience and competence in microbial methods.
- Routine lab technique: microscopy and counting, dilutions and aseptic handling.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
