Effective Control of Codling Moth Larvae

Benefits

Proven Efficacy

An excess of 80% efficacy rate has been observed during product trials.

Reduced Risk of Resistance Development

CodlMax is a naturally occurring virus within the tortricid family, meaning larvae are less likely to developresistance.

No Phytotoxicity

Field trials show no phytotoxic effects at any application rate.

MRL Management

CodlMax can be applied up to harvest without leaving chemical residues.

Environmentally Friendly

Safe for bees, beneficial insects, fish, birds, and other wildlife.

IPM Friendly

Can be incorporated into an integrated pest management program for holistic pest control.

How does it work?

  1. CodlMax is sprayed directly onto crops.

2. Larvae ingest the virus from the fruit surface.

3. The protective protein layer of the virus is digested by the high pH of the larval midgut.

4 .The virus is absorbed by microvilli, initiating replication in midgut cell nuclei. It then spreads throughout the larvae, causing secondary replication.

5. Infected larvae die, releasing virus particles into the environment to infect other larvae, creating a natural, ongoing cycle of control.

CodlMax is environmentally friendly, harmless to beneficial insects and wildlife, and fully compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
