Effective Control of Fruit Fly Populations in Orchards through Attract-and-Kill Technology
M3 Bait Stations are an effective population suppression tool designed to achieve a rapid knockdown of fruit fly numbers before pressure builds up. Proven through multiple trials, M3 Bait Stations provide a reliable and sustainable method of fruit fly control.
Target: Ceratitis Fruit Flies
Registered Crops: All Susceptible Crops

Benefits

Longevity
M3 Bait Stations should be applied before fruit fly populations increase and crops become susceptible. Each application offers a control period of 16–18 weeks, allowing for just one or two applications per season.

IPM Friendly
M3 Bait Stations are fully compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes, providing a sustainable and environmentally responsible control option.

MRL Management
Because the bait stations are suspended in trees and do not contact fruit or foliage, they ensure zero detectable residue levels (MRLs).

No Fruit Burns
By reducing the need for foliar bait sprays—known to cause phytotoxicity or blemishes on soft citrus—M3 Bait Stations help protect fruit quality and appearance.

How Does It Work?
- Female fruit flies are attracted to the bait station, strategically placed throughout the orchard.
- Upon contact, the flies are killed by the active ingredient in the formulation.
- This leads to a reduction in the female population, which in turn limits mating and lowers the overall fruit fly population.
- The result is significantly reduced infestation risk and improved crop protection.

Efficacy & Trial Data:
M3 Bait Stations provide a population knockdown before pressure builds up.
It has been proven as an effective measure of population reduction as seen in the trap catch data below.

Even though the M3 Bait Stations target female fruit flies, the above graph depicts how the population is reduced in the absence of the female fruit flies.

Extensive field trials have demonstrated that M3 Bait Stations achieve rapid population knockdown, effectively reducing fruit fly pressure throughout the season. Trap catch data consistently confirms strong performance and lasting population suppression when M3 Bait Stations are used as part of an IPM strategy.
