Vacancy – HR Assistant

River Bioscience (Pty) Ltd has an opportunity for an HR Assistant to join the team. This permanent position will be based at our Head Office in Port Elizabeth. The HR Assistant plays a key supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the RBX Group’s HR Department.

Responsibilities:

Assist with:

  • Recruitment administration and logistics (schedule interviews, assessments, conduct reference and qualification checks).
  • Onboarding and Exit procedures (scheduling, record keeping, prepare documents, co-ordinate medicals, track probation periods, checklists).
  • Record keeping and leave administration.
  • Updating of Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
  • Payroll and Benefit administration.
  • Compliance requirements (HR and Payroll related).
  • Training and development (approval documentation, scheduling, maintaining attendance records, co-ordinate, assist with submissions, work-back agreements).
  • Performance Management (Co-ordination, training, updating data, tracking trends).
  • Internal communication (Assist with National staff meetings, Newsletters, WhatsApp groups etc).
  • Employee engagement initiatives (functions, team buildings etc).
  • Handling employee queries.
  • General administration and support to the Head of HR.

Requirements

  • Matric with a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources.
  • Min 3 years’ experience in similar or related role.
  • Experience in payroll and benefit administration.
  • Computer Literate at Mid to High Level (Microsoft package).
  • Strong communication skills – both written and spoken (English and Afrikaans).
  • Administrative expertise and able to work with data and numbers.
  • Must be organized, people oriented and enjou working as part of a team.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Some travel will be required in this role.
