Product FAQ's

Product FAQ's

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED SPRAY COVERAGE FOR HELICOVIR ON CITRUS?

6,000 litres of water per ha for big trees. In other words a good medium cover spray. Thorough coverage is necessary because of the nature of the active ingredient.

IS HELICOVIR COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER AGRICULTURAL SPRAY PRODUCTS?

Yes, Helicovir is compatible with most chemical products, including foliar nutrition. Copper and copper based fungicides are not compatible with Helicovir. Please see label for more information.

WHAT IS THE LIKELIHOOD OF BOLLWORM DEVELOPING RESISTANCE TO HELICOVIR?

The possibility of bollworm developing resistance to Helicovir is extremely slim, even if Helicovir is applied on a weekly/regular basis.
There are a number of reasons for this:
1. The Helicovir virus is a naturally occurring indigenous pathogen. The host and the pathogen have obviously co-existed and co-evolved over millennia.

2. The application of “high” concentrations of Helicovir in orchards is simply an imitation of a common natural phenomenon, known as an epizootic. An epizootic is an epidemic in animals, including insects.

WILL HELICOVIR CONTROL OR SUPPRESS ANY OTHER INSECTS?

No. Insect viruses are known to be very host specific.

WHAT IS THE WITHHOLDING PERIOD OF THE PRODUCT?

There is no withholding period. Helicovir does not leave any residues and is not harmful to humans or the environment.
